Laboratory filtering centrifuge
ideal for solids/liquids separation
The sanitary design of the laboratory filtering centrifuge makes
the unit ideal for solids/liquids separation, washing and extractions of food ingredients, polysaccharides, crystals, botanical
extracts and pharmaceuticals. The unit is rugged enough to
handle dense products including powdered metals. Separate feed
and wash lines allow approximation of production scale centrifugation process. Weighing approximately 220 pounds, the unit features
a NEMA-4X electrical enclosure and base frame.

As with many other industrial products and processes, the green
initiative has finally come to industrial ball valves. Industry in general
is striving to contribute to a more livable environment by reducing
hazardous emissions, controlling spills and addressing environmental
concerns. From oil giants like EXXON and Chevron to food proces-
sors like ADM and Cargill, most of the major global firms are
embracing environmental conscientiousness. Since the advent of the
Clean Air Act, industrial plants have revised their specifications
regarding fugitive emissions. Eliminating emissions from valves is one
of the more serious challenges in the process industry, and is one of
the most costly to control. Valve automation expert Robert M. Donnelly discusses how the green
movement is affecting valves in his column. To view this column, turn to page 16.
Medium-pressure ball valve
Designed for improved cycle life in the field, the medium-pressure ball valve
provides a leak-tight seal for applications up to 15,000 psig. The trunnion-style ball valve features the company’s patent-pending direct load design, which delivers a
more consistent seal across a full range of
pressures. Innovative stem and end connection seals prevent shell leakage and provide
robust cycle life even in severe conditions. FKB Series. For more information on Valves & Actuators,

Milkshake flavoring pump
The easy-to-load pumphead is ideal for
food and beverage processing applications including milkshake flavoring. The
unit offers flow ranges of . 25 to 3,000
milliliters-per-minute, pressures up to 30
psi, and can utilize seven different tube
sizes. With an accuracy rate of up to
99.5-percent, flavorings, colorings and
additives are given true positive displacement with no siphoning. To maintain
the purity of the pumped product, the pumphead has no valves, is self-priming, and can run dry without incurring damage. Series 313D. For more information on Food Equipment, go to page 22.

New pulverizing system provides increased
production rates
New pulverizing system provides increased production
rates, low maintenance costs and ease-of-operation.
Standard features include higher reliability with the direct-drive system; horizontal grinding mills for more even grinding
and longer disk-life; and longer-lasting grinding disks for
less maintenance cost due to the large 20-inch-diame-
ter HY-PRO DISK design. For more information on
Powder & Bulk Solids, go to page 34.
